What Is a Surface Aerator?

Surface aerators are equipment that are designed to provide the necessary aeration and mixing for the biological treatment process in wastewater treatment plants.

Types of Surface Aerators

These type of surface aerators are commonly used in shallow and wide channels.

As the horizontal shaft is rotated by an electric motor drive, pallets spray the wastewater across the tank therefore promoting circulation and entraining air inside the wastewater.

As the vertical shaft is rotated rapidly by an electric motor drive, the impeller sprays the wastewater across the tank promoting circulation and entraining air inside the wastewater.

This type of surface aerator consists of fully or partially submerged impallers that are attached to electric motors mounted on floating or fixed structures.

Operating Principle
