Travelling Bridge Scraper

As a travelling bridge scraper manufacturer and a worldwide travelling bridge scraper supplier, Vortex Engineering provides large variety of design options.

Travelling bridge scrapers installed in flat bottom rectangular sedimentation tanks are designed to remove the settled sludge, floated scum and foam in the clarifier, thus reducing suspended solids content in the water.

As the sedimentation process takes place, the solid accumulates at the bottom, as the scum and foam floats towards the surface.

Bottom scrapers attached to the bottom of the travelling bridge collect the settled sludge while surface scrapers remove the scum as the bridge travels.

Scraping and suction methods can both be used for the removal of settled sludge in the tank. The sludge is either scraped by the scraper blades to the sludge hopper where it is withdrawn by a stationary pump or directly withdrawn by the submerged pumps attached to the travelling bridge without any scraping.

Scrapers are height adjustable so that the scraper blades can be lifted clear of the sludge and foam blanked on the return travel.
