As a fixed bridge scraper manufacturer and a worldwide fixed bridge scraper supplier, Vortex Engineering provides large variety of design options.
Fixed bridge scrapers installed in circular sedimentation tanks are designed to scrape the settled sludge in the clarifier, thus reducing suspended solids content in the water.
According to the customer needs the bridge can be manufactured as semi, extended or full bridge type and the drive system can be adjusted to peripheral driven or central driven type.
In circular tanks, the flow pattern is radial. To achieve a radial flow pattern, the wastewater to be settled is introduced from the the center of the tank. The bottom of the tank is sloped in the shape of an inverted cone.
Through sedimentation, the settleable solids are settled to the bottom. Bottom scrapers attached to the central shaft continuously collect the settled sludge into a hopper near the center of the tank where it is removed from the tank through a discharge pipe.
